The Borderless Journey

Join Our Team

Pro bono & volunteer
members wanted

Five areas: video production, facilitation/operations, social media, writing, and the website. No experience or specific skills required.

§ 1. Why Join

TBJ is built on many overlapping forms of capital and contribution

The Borderless Journey is run as a social business. It is built on many overlapping forms of capital and contribution: donations from individual and corporate supporters, the time and expertise of our volunteer and pro bono members, business profits recycled into scholarships, and the knowledge and care of everyone who takes part.

We're looking for people to join that circle as volunteers or pro bono members!

§ 3. FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Q. Do I need experience or specific skills?

Not at all. Start with whatever sparks your interest, and we'll work out your involvement together with the team. You can build expertise and experience as you go.

Q. What does "pro bono" mean?

"Pro bono" comes from the Latin pro bono publico ("for the public good"). It refers to contributing your professional experience and skills to social and public causes.

Q. What's the difference between pro bono and volunteering?

Pro bono means taking an active role by applying your professional expertise. Volunteering means lending a hand however you can, regardless of expertise. Both are unpaid, and we welcome both as teammates who help grow the world of TBJ together.

Q. Can I share my TBJ work publicly as part of my portfolio?

Yes — we'd be glad if it helps with whatever you take on next! * Since some work may include information about guests or third parties, or unpublished material, please check with the team before sharing it.

Q. Will I have chances to build relationships with other TBJ members and participants?

Yes. Beyond our free events, we may also invite you to join TBJ programs and overseas study programs as a member of the organizing team.

Q. Can I get more deeply involved with TBJ?

As we work together, if we find a strong fit in values and skills, we may welcome you as an intern or staff member.
